The Burleson County 4-H Saddle & Sirloin Club is designed for youth 3rd through the 12th grade. Our desire is to provide opportunities for them to grow in their livestock knowledge, leadership, public speaking, and skills.

Leadership

4-H Saddle & Sirloin Club Officer Positions & Duties- President: Compile agendas before meetings, preside at all club meetings, enforce the bylaws and exercise supervision over the affairs of the club. Appoint standing and special committees. Serve as an ex-officio member of each committee, except the nominating committee.- Vice President: Assist the president and lead the club in the Pledge of Allegiance and 4-H Motto & Pledge. Perform the duties of the president in the absence of that officer. Serve as chairman of the program committee. Help plan and organize all club educational programs in advance, this includes the fair educational exhibit.- Secretary: Keep a full and correct record of all proceedings of the club. Have charge of club correspondence. Keep roll and read the minutes at each meeting. They must submit typed minutes to the Extension Office, Club Manager, and President within 7 days.- Treasurer: Help prepare a budget for approval by the club annually. Receive, hold and pay out all monies of the club as designated by the adopted budget. Any expenditure(s) not included in the budget must be approved by the executive committee. Keep an accurate record of receipts, expenditures, and reconciliation of all funds. Present a financial statement at all meetings or when requested to do so.- Reporter: Report activities of the club to the local news media, and County Extension Agent/office. This includes taking pictures and submitting them to the Extension Office for the 4-H Newsletter. Report 4-H and community news at club meetings.- 2 Council Delegates: Serve as a delegate to the County 4-H Council. Keep the club informed of the County 4-H activities and assist in the coordination of local and county activities. Encourage all 4-H members to become involved in the County 4-H activities. You must attend all County Council meetings.*In order to run for any of these positions, you must have attended at least half of the prior year's meetings. If you were a previous officer, you must have fulfilled all of your duties to be considered for a role the following year.*In order to vote for any incoming officers, you must be a current member of the Burleson County 4-H Horse Club and have attended a prior meeting within that year.
